what is an external attack

External Attack -
When the attacker is either hired by an insider or an external entities to the organisation ,it is known as external attack. The organisation which is a victim of a cyber  attack. The organisation which is a victim of a cyber attack not only face financial loss but also the loss of reputation.Since tye attack is external to the organisation so these attacker usually scan and gathering information .An experienced by the network/security administrator keeps regular eyes on the log generated by the firewall as external attack can' be traced out by carefully  analyzing these firewall logs. Also intrusion detection system are installed to keep an eye on the external attack.The cyber attack  also be classified as structure attacker and unstructured attack based on the level of maturity of the attacker . the some of the author have classified these attacks was as a form of external attack but there is procedure of the cases when a structure attack was performed by an internal employee.This happens in the cases when the competitor company wants the future strategy of an organisation or certain points. The attacker may strategically gain access to the company as the employees and access the required information.
