Track:- the surface of
a disk is divided into number of concentric circle which is called
track.
Ø
Sector :- each track is further sub divided into number of
segment which is called sector.
Ø
Seek time:- it is the time taken to position of the read write
head from the one track to another track.
Ø
Latency time:- it is time taken to another sector of
the same head .
Ø
Access time:- seek time + latency time. If the head is fixed the
seek time is equal to “o” therefore access time=latency time.
